NOKIA 6710 -NAVIGATOR

Nokia 6710 Navigator launched
By Mike on 16 February 2009

BARCELONA, Spain - The new Nokia 6710 Navigator has just been announced, and this svelte new pocket satnav caller is very clear about its role from the minute it’s plucked from its box. The Nokia 6710 Navigator is a device that is as dedicated to in-car navigation as it is pedestrian guidance - when it launches later this year it will come with the Nokia CR-111 car holder accessory inside the box, which cradles the handset so it can sit smartly in view on your dashboard.

Read on for the full lowdown on Nokia’s newest Navigator. One of the major goals for the Nokia 6710 Navigator was to make it an effortless satnav companion, for driving and walking, offering quick access to real-time navigation via a dedicated navigator key and an instinctive service via Nokia Maps 3.0. Something Markku Suomi, vice president at Nokia, emphasized today.
“The navigation solution provided by the Nokia 6710 Navigator is second to none and provides everything you would expect from a dedicated GPS device with all the benefits of a converged mobile device… We want to make the experience as simple and effective as possible, which means the navigation licenses are pre-installed and ready to use as soon as you turn on the Navigator”

The new Nokia 6710 Navigator has also been designed to ensure it can cope with the heavy demands of GPS, and is able to deliver up to 12.6 hours of GPS pedestrian navigation and 6.6 hours of car navigation.

Location-based service such as Nokia Maps 3.0, and it’s ability to geo-tag photos via it’s 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, are backed up by some serious data sharing credentials - the Nokia 6710 Navigator supports both high speed uplink (HSDPA) and high speed downlink (HSUPA), meaning you can share photos and videos far faster and more efficiently than before.
The Nokia 6710 Navigator will arrive in the third quarter for around 300 Euros, before taxes and subsidies.

Click through our gallery of photos of the Nokia 6710 Navigator to get a detailed look at this smart S60 satnav handset. Let us know what your reckon to its arrival in the comments section beneath.

SAMSUNG - BLUE EARTH

In the example of the phone under the name 'Blue Earth' company Samsung is trying to demonstrate that all the talk about environmental performance - it is not an empty phrase. As a result, we have the phone, whose body is made of plastic from used plastic bottles for recycling, and supporting eco-mode, which is optimally adjust the brightness of the screen, the duration of illumination and the use of Bluetooth.

But these are trifles compared with the relatively large solar panel on its rear surface, which produces enough energy to make a phone call (talking about situations where the phone is quite level and the situation seemed to be hopeless). Unfortunately, no information about its technical characteristics, except that it is a touch screen, no, but it knows what to expect it can sell in the second half of the year.

INTEL CENTRINO 2

Intel's Centrino 2 chipset has been well received by laptop manufacturers, but which are the more notable ones out of a huge crop? After all, Fujitsu, Toshiba, Lenovo, and Sony are in the game, and it would be pretty time consuming to go through all of them, which is why we're here to provide a community service message for all and sundry who are considering picking one of these puppies up. Small and thin ones will be the main focus here, since I doubt you'd want to lug around a brick on your travels. More details are available after the jump.

DOWNADUB/KIDO DANGEROUS WORM THAT INFECTED 9.5MILLION COMPUTERS

This worm is also known as Downadup or Kido which was first discovered in October 2008.
This worm freely spreads through low security networks, pendrives, and the computer's which does not have the regular updates.

Working Principle of this Worm:-
  • After entering in to the computer successfully, the worm works by searching for a Windows executable file called services.exe and then becomes a part of that code.
  • It then copies itself into the Windows system folder and creates a file with the extension called"dll (Dynamic Linked Library)" and then it modifies the registry.
  • Once the worm is successfully set up it creates an HTTP Server and then downloads files from the Hacker's Website.
  • The most dangerous feature of this worm is it resets the machines system restore point so that making it very harder to recover the infected system.
  • Toni Koivunen from F - Secure says that the worm uses a complicated algorithm to generate 100's of different domains every day such as mphtfrxs.net imctaef.cc, etc. But only one of these will actually be the site used to download the hacker's files.
  • Anyhow the microsoft has released the patch through Windows Update.
  • But the computer's without the latest security updates are under High Risk.
  • So , Please Update as soon as Possible.

Four - Things You Never Knew Your Mobile Phone Could Do

4 Things You Never Knew Your Mobile Phone Could DoPosted on February 19, 2008 1:00 PM, Filed under.

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:-

1. Emergency
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile; network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
Also in Australia , the Australian emergency number 000 can be dialled whilst your mobile phone keyboard is locked. This is another reason why 000 receives so many false emergency calls!.

2. Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their mobile phone from your cell phone.

Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Editors Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a mobile phone!"

3. Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your mobile battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370# Your mobile will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your mobile next time.

4. How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone!:
star-hash-zero-six-hash
* # 0 6 #
A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either.

If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
Not only the above, but also in Australia your stolen phone is added to a "Stolen Mobile Phone" database, so if your phone is found later on it can be returned to you.
